The Big Day!!!

Early in the morning - I wrote in the journal I've created for Rachel since the adoption began. We both went to work and somehow made it thru the day til 1:00 pm. Dad drove 90 Mph all the way to Pasadena. His palms were sweaty and his breathing very heavy. But, when we met w/ our agency Kerri and Maggi and after seeing Rachel's photo - we said "Where do we sign?!" It was a no brainer. Don't give up 28 months before the miracle.

Sorry my fellow Californians - Atlantic beaches (like in this picture) are so much better! If this weren't a black and white you would see snow white powdery sand and the water temp is like swimming pool/bathwater temp.

And Anna will be here in 3 weeks - YIPEE. She doesn't care - kids have the skin of seals. Hang in there Weston - just a few more years and you'll get your Ca vacation with Aunti and Unkie.

Mother's Day Do Over May 20, 2007

What a BEAUTIFUL day. Last weekend (Mother's Day) was filled w/ sadness, feelings of lost loved ones and fear for those so dear and close to us. We are a VERY CLOSE family here in these pictures. It was such an honor and pleasure to just have everyone over and bring only their favorite coffee or tea cups and relax in the outdoor beauty and enjoy each other's conversation and company. May you be as blessed in life as I am. I love you all.

This is Rachel B. as well......but the B is for Burstein. The Bursteins are the family who introduced us to our adoption agency Heartsent Adoptions, Inc. The Bursteins did not know that I had known since I was a little girl that my daughter would be named "Rachel" as well. When they first received Rachel she was 15 months old. She is currently 3 years old and one of the joys in my life. She loves to pose for the camera!! I have many pictures of her and will post the most current of them shortly. This picture was taken today while at a class given by our agency on "Babies in Hotels and Referral Day". This will be our third year to attend this very same class. Short of living it - we feel that we could teach it due to our loooong wait.

I am very blessed to have Raquel in my life. I have no doubt that she was and has been truly God sent. And her insides are just as attractive as her outsides. Kevin is her sweetie/boyfriend and as well - wonderful friend of mine and Tim's.........not hard on the eyes either - I call them Ken and Barbie :D Gigi (Raquel's oldest) is slightly older than my niece - Anna and they hang out together when Anna's in So Cal to visit Auntie and Unkie.

I asked (the way I usually ask) Tim for a place behind his planter wall for me to plant a garden. Two weeks later, the hauling by Tim via wheelbarrel of at least 8 yards of soil ammendment that was delivered to front of garage door, Moi raking it out, the planting of various herbs to cook with, and veggies and WHALLAH!!
